The Rossini Guest House is located just outside the LTZ ( Limited Traffic Zone) – It is situated in the extra-mural area. In this zone, there are many services (supermarket, restaurants, bars, etc.).
Via Rossini, in Martina Franca, constitutes a segment of the elliptical ring road that runs along the ancient walls of the historic centre.
This road infrastructure was determined in the second half of the 19th century, in order to provide new building areas,following the steady population growth of Martina, known as Franca from 1864.
It is likely that, it was from this date that the ring road that traced, by filling them in, the defensive moats of the ancient city was named to honour the major Italian composers of the 19th century, including Maestro Gioacchino Rossini
Given the strong population growth and limits of costruction, led the population to create access to the historic dwellings only by means of vertical connecting stairs.
